The Place of Art in the Art of Place. Monday - 22nd October

This event, part of Burnie Shines 2018, is a discussion and a 'provocation'. It will mark Burnie Arts Council's 70th Birthday! Hear an expert panel explore the arts in our region and their contribution to our economic, cultural and social life. Speakers:
Saul Eslake – independent economist and Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow, University of Tasmania.
Professor Kate Darian-Smith - Executive Dean and Pro Vice Chancellor College of Arts, Law and Education, University of Tasmania
Lindy Hume – Artistic Director,Ten Days on the Island and author “Restless Giant: changing cultural value in regional Australia”
Vic McEwan – contemporary artist and Artistic Director, The Cad Factory.
