Artist Statement: Between the lines a story lies consists of three wearable artists collar books.  Each piece includes fragments of the same text in varying degrees of legibility and deconstruction.  The text is from a poem I wrote responding to the internal dialogue of inherited text, memory and containment. The artists books consist of many sculpture elements that exist autonomously or collectively as small sculptures when deconstructed and detached from the wearable object. Each element while autonomous is linked by elements of the same narrative.

Paper off Skin is a sister event to Paper on Skin

Since 2012 Paper on Skin has driven extraordinary innovation in the world of wearable paper art.

Paper off Skin gives artists, designers and papermakers the opportunity to explore the unique and versatile qualities of paper as a medium of creativity.  The competition will expand the artistry and innovation seen in the works of Paper on Skin – without the works needing to be wearable.

Criteria

Works must be garment-inspired, linked to wearable art, or demonstrate the development of techniques/methodology which could be used in future wearable paper artwork.
