‘Dream Burnie,’ written by Justin Heazlewood, will be released on Feb 3!
Justin has interviewed over twenty of Burnie’s most successful artists for the book.
Their stories are told alongside Justin’s nostalgic bus-trip and humorous observations about life in our small city.
The featured artists might have been your neighbour, your old school pal, someone you taught, someone who taught you (yes, Eric Hiller is in there), or someone you once had a crush on.
Maybe you thought would go far – but did you know they would go THIS far?
Thanks to the support of Arts Tasmania, we will also be launching the book around Tassie and up the Eastern Seaboard of the big island.
Keep up to date by following @Dream Burnie on socials, or check out the website www.dreamburnie.com
Before Christmas we sent a few early copies around to some cool people to read. This is what Myf Warhurst had to say:
‘Justin’s genuine affection for Burnie shines through in this part memoir / part celebration of the folk who made the town great and paved the way for others who follow. Any kid who grew up in or is growing up in a country town needs to read this!’
There’s more endorsements to share, and next week we will show you the cover (by a very talented Burnie alum, of course)!
Thanks also to the Burnie City Council who supported the development of the book through the Burnie Arts Council’s 75th Birthday celebratory events.
