Julia Parker is a talented violinist from Circular Head. After receiving the Helen Denise Jones Memorial Bursary at the end of 2017, Julia headed off for her first year of tertiary studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Julia’s first year involved being accepted into the University’s two orchestras, both the Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra. Along with performing in prestigious venues around Melbourne throughout the year, the Symphony Orchestra travelled to Singapore and Shanghai!.
The bursary funds have assisted with Julia’s university expenses, and she was able to have her violin assessed and repaired by a highly reputable luthier in Melbourne.
